12 People Suddenly Fell Ill At Walmart Fulfillment Center

Twelve people were mysteriously sickened by at a Walmart fulfillment center in Tennessee Monday night, but no hazardous substances were found, authorities said.

The Wilson County Emergency Management Agency said they were called shortly before 8 p.m. Monday regarding an “unknown substance” at the Walmart fulfillment center on Hixson Boulevard in Lebanon, about 30 miles east of Nashville.

A total of 12 people reported symptoms “related to nausea,” according to Wilson County EMA. Ten were evaluated and released after decontamination at the scene, and two sought treatment at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital after leaving the scene.

A perimeter was established around the facility as hazmat crews worked to identify the substance. Wilson County EMA said Monday night that crews would remain on scene to oversee cleanup.

In an update Tuesday morning, the agency said crews were unable to identify any hazardous materials at the scene.

“After further investigation, no hazardous materials were identified and there were no diagnostic findings from the patients that sought treatment at the ER,” the agency said.
