As JoJo Siwa looks to rebrand herself as an adult following her rise to fame as a child on the reality series “Dance Moms,” it’s not just a matter of fashion choices.
During her appearance at the 2024 GLAAD Media Awards last month, BuzzFeed News asked the 20-year-old “Karma” singer to name the most expensive thing she was wearing.
“My teeth,” Siwa replied, referring to her perfectly straight and white veneers. “These motherf***ers cost me 50 grand.”
The dancer and singer previously admitted being “very insecure.”
“I judge myself at everything. I’m a very insecure person,” she said while competing on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” last year.
But she’s not the only one judging. She also shared judgmental comments from viewers of “Dance Moms.”
“You know, people told me I have a receding hairline,” she revealed. “They don’t know that I have a stress rash and that’s why I’m balding right here. A 12-year-old shouldn’t have a stress rash on their head that makes them bald, but I did.”
Fans were shocked when Siwa appeared at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards last week wearing a full-length mesh body suit with bedazzled bat wings and some Kiss-inspired corpse paint on her face.
“People are afraid of things they don’t know,” she told E! News at the event. “Things can be scary for people. New things can be very, very scary.”
