One Direction fans are divided on social media after photos of former member Louis Tomlinson’s gray hair caught their attention.
Tomlinson, 32, went viral over the weekend for bringing a TV to the Glastonbury Festival in Pilton, England, so he could watch England’s Euros 2024 match against Slovakia.
But fans of One Direction seemed more concerned with the growing patches of gray in his hair and beard.
“i was NOT prepared to see Louis Tomlinson with grey hair !!?!??!?! I know we are all getting older but my teen heart is sobbing,” one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Tomlinson was just 18 when One Direction rose to fame back in 2010, with fellow members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan.
Tomlinson attended the music festival with sister Lottie and several friends, and became upset that organizers announced it would not be showing the football match due to conflicts with on-stage performances. According to the Guardian, Tomlinson left the festival to purchase a TV and generator, and brought it back to stream the game.
Tomlinson was joined by a small crowd, which briefly posed security concerns for blocking a thoroughfare, but in a compromise, the screen was turned so viewers could move out of the way.
“It’s the second screen I’ve bought,” Tomlinson told the Guardian. “The first got cracked. I wasn’t going to take credit for it because it looked like we were going to lose in normal time, but now that we’ve equalised I’m happy to.”
The match went into extra time, with England’s Harry Kane scoring the winning goal to finish 2–1.
